#DefundPlannedParenthood – How To Contact Your Senator
After an unintentional hiatus from blogging, the #DefundPlannedParenthood conversation has spurred me to action.
I have a lot of opinions. A lot of very strong opinions. Suffice it to say, I whole-heartedly agree with Dr. Ben Carson (world renowned neurosurgeon) in the video above. (Update: video has been replaced with testimony by Gianna Jessen, a woman who survived being aborted.)
This is not an abortion issue, though I have no problem expressing my opposition to abortion. This is an American citizen saying “No! You do not get to participate in the trafficking of little human bodies and parts AND still get our tax dollars.”
Ok, so, what can we do besides be horrified about it? We can contact our State Senators, on the double.
Contact YOUR Senators here. Tell them how you want your tax dollars spent. Tell them how you wish to be represented. Tell them the truth.
Since I currently live in Texas, I’m covered by Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn. Thank you, Sirs.
This conversation started on Facebook. God loves us all.
Whoa… why are we more upset about a lion’s death than the deaths (and selling) of little human beings?#Defund Planned Parenthood

Dear Heavenly Father,
You are so good. Thank you for loving us ALL so much, despite our wicked hearts. I ask that you help this post not be about me. (You know how judgmental I can be.) I ask You to let this post to be only one Christ-follower using her gifts peacefully and with love for (what I believe) breaks Your heart. And help me to do this with the grace and humility that comes from knowing I myself- am far from perfect.
I am lifting up the State Senators, Father. I pray that You speak what is TRUE to their hearts and that we see a resurgence of leaders with a heart for You and Your Son, Jesus. I know You can do anything, God. But not my will, but Yours be done.
That you are faithful even while we are faithless is more than we can understand, Lord. Thank you for reminding me that the battle has already been won and that You are so much bigger than any of this. Thank you for saving us from this fallen world.
I pray all this in Your Son’s name, Jesus Christ. Amen.
