If You Got Chains, He’s A Chain Breaker #ChainBreaker #MusicMonday

I don’t “get” people that don’t love music. But God made us all different so… that’s cool.
Anyway- He definitely made me in such a way that I love music. All kinds.

(Though lately – the lyrics to the music on our top 40 hits are cringe worthy to say the least.)

That’s why I had to share this song. I love everything about it. I love Zach Williams raspy growl and the simplicity of the piano in the beginning. I SUPER love the lyrics and the truth behind them.

And this song almost instantly brought me to tears.
Been in pain? Yep.
Been lost? Oh yeah.
Been enslaved? Pfft. So often I stopped noticing.

What I think I’ve always wanted most in life is peace- a kind of true freedom. As someone that has searched high and low for peace and freedom – the song serves as a perfect reminder that Jesus is everything I’ve ever been looking for.

Just breath. Rest. He’s got it.

Even after I/you find Jesus – now you have to learn how to have a relationship with Him and it’s not always easy. We live in a fallen world and we become slaves to so many things… Money, politics, pride, addictions, lust, selfishness, greed and… blah, blah. You know I could go on.

And we become numb. After all… it’s how everyone else is doing it.

I’ve lived most of my life feeling really weighed down. Metaphorical chains, for sure. A slave to what other people think… heavy from making my worthiness be something that it is not and manically confused about my true identity…

Ahh!! (pulls hair out)

But then… I read His word, or hear His music and He reminds me…

He’s a chain breaker, Baby.

Share this song with someone that needs to hear it.

LYRICS

If you’re been walking the same old road for miles and miles
If you’ve been hearing the same old voice tell the same old lies
If you’re trying to fill the same old holes inside
There’s a better life, there’s a better life

If you’ve got pain, He’s a pain taker
If you feel lost, He’s a way maker
If you need freedom or saving, He’s a prison-shaking Savior
If you got chains, He’s a chain breaker

We’ve all searched for the light of day in the dead of night
We’ve all found ourselves worn out from the same old fight
We’ve all run to things we know just ain’t right
When there’s a better life, there’s a better life

If you’ve got pain, He’s a pain taker
If you feel lost, He’s a way maker
If you need freedom or saving, He’s a prison-shaking Savior
If you got chains, He’s a chain breaker

If you believe it, if you receive it
If you can feel it, somebody testify
If you believe it, if you receive it
If you can feel it, somebody testify, testiify
If you believe it, if you receive it
If you can feel it, somebody testify

If you’ve got pain, He’s a pain taker
If you feel lost, He’s a way maker
If you need freedom or saving, He’s a prison-shaking Savior
If you got chains, He’s a chain breaker

If you need freedom or saving, He’s a prison-shaking Savior
If you got chains, He’s a chain breaker
