New #MusicMonday: Help Me Find It By Sidewalk Prophets

Featured Video Play Icon

Granted this song, Help Me Find It, has been out for a few months, but I would be amiss if I did not include my anthem for 2014 in the #MusicMonday celebration. Yes, that’s right- I said anthem.

As I have found myself drawing closer to Christ these past few months, this song tugged at my heart in a way that brought instant tears the first time I heard it. I resonate with the lyrics. This is so me.

I relate to being lost and desperately desiring divine direction for my life. I’m done being exhausted trying to create life success and happiness on my own. I admit I’m broken. I am finally ready to let go.

But the thing about letting go of my own will for my life is that… it’s really hard. I love that this song addresses the unrest that can come with waiting on God or His timing. And it reminds us to ask for help, even to be still and at peace.
I really dig this band. Sidewalk Prophets has a host of great songs on their latest album Live Like That. Great album. May we all use our God-given gifts for His glory.

Lyrics

I donโ€™t know where to go from here
It all used to seem so clear
Iโ€™m finding I canโ€™t do this on my ownI donโ€™t know where to go from here
As long as I know that You are near
Iโ€™m done fighting
Iโ€™m finally letting goI will trust in You
Youโ€™ve never failed before
I will trust in You

[Chorus:]
If thereโ€™s a road I should walk
Help me find it
If I need to be still
Give me peace for the moment
Whatever Your will
Whatever Your will
Can you help me find it
Can you help me find it

Iโ€™m giving You fear and You give faith
I giving you doubt
You give me grace
For every step Iโ€™ve never been alone

Even when it hurts, Youโ€™ll have Your way
Even in the valley I will say
With every breath
Youโ€™ve never let me go

I will wait for You
Youโ€™ve never failed before
I will wait for You

[Chorus]

I lift my empty hands (come fill me up again)
Have Your way my King (I give my all to You)
I lift my eyes again (Was blind but now I see)
โ€˜Cause You are all I need
