#OneSimpleChange Health Challenge is #ActiveInApril
Wanna be active in April with me?
Duh, right? I know.
Though I have always been an active person โ when I graduated from college and got a full-time job my massive appetite continued while my activity decreased.
I swelled up to 165 pounds.
I probably dabbled in a diet or two but memories of my youth already told me that diets don’t work for someone that hates being told she can’t do something. I freak.
What can I say? God’s not done with me yet.
So I started adding. I like the thought of adding over taking away.
I got a book about women’s fitness and started going to the gym at random hours. No trainer. Very little cardio. And permission given to myself to eat whatever I desired after the workout.
Random side note: I do think one of the nice things about my job at the time (and now) was that I could go to the gym during off-peak hours. Going to the gym during peak hours makes me nervous to this day.
But you know… It’s funny what happens when you you start exercising on a regular basis. Even starting small with 20 minutes of hand weights. You literally start losing a taste for many unhealthy foods.
I would feel so good after the workout- I was not trying to eat a chili cheese dog. Just didn’t sound good anymore.
And now?! Bleck to over-processed food!
I’m an accidental healthy food snob!
But I made one simple change of going to the gym for at least 20 minutes a day to start.
And it snowballed. And I started eating better.
And I feel so much better today than I did 10 years ago.
So when some of my Juice+ friends told be about the #ActiveInApril challenge- I was all over it.
To be honest โ being active every day will not be issue for me as I have way too much energy to go more than a day without exercising.
I’m pretty sure I would implode without daily active stress relievers, but let’s not test it out.
So how can I make this a challenge for me too?
Well, as a video blogger โ the month of April was often #VEDA or Vlog Every Day in April. My friend Monika Philp hosted this challenge multiple times over the years in this Video Blogger Facebook group and I never was able to completed it fully.
Failed to make a video every day for 30 days straight. Grr.
So I thought โ I would put the two challenges together and challenge myself to make some sort of activity video every day in April.
#VEDA and #ActiveInApril collide.
I’ll be sharing my daily video workout challenge on Snapchat and my Facebook Page. If you would like to join the free Plus Life Facebook community, shoot me a quick email or ping me on FB.
