Little by little, my grandmother is allowing me to introduce her to technology. But she keeps me on a short leash about it. When I do show her something on my computer, I know I only have a small window of time before she would rather watch another episode of People’s Court. I choose my videos carefully.

My point, is that I am always searching for powerful videos to uplift her spirits and broaden her horizons. She likes Joel Olsteen– so I showed her how she can watch his YouTube sermons with my Roku plugged into her television. She liked that.

We watched some wholesome Christian movies on Amazon Prime. This one is cute.

And I’ve shared lots of musical performances. Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent is probably her favorite.

I ran across this video of Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill performing Then Sings My Soul a few months ago and it gave me goosebumps followed by tears of… joy, truth, worship, longing, gratitude, humility… all that.

It’s that good.

Cried again when I showed Grandma this morning. Even she got a little glossy-eyed.

Even if the video doesn’t bring you to tears, I challenge you to allow it to move you. It rings in my soul and reminds me of what is true- what is real in life.

This is what it’s all about.

Dear Heavenly Father, how similarly to the lyrics of this song do our souls long to be with You. You are so good; so awesome- in the truest sense of the word. We are overwhelmed and in true awe of your power and mercy. Thank you for loving and choosing us in Christ even before you made the world. We are so loved. Amen.

LYRICS: How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think of God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art!”

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
