Think Of Things That Are Lovely, Says Mom

Mom was right. She’s always right.

Too bad for her I took the scenic route in learning all the life advice she tried to give me. I can be a stubborn little thing.

Eh. It made her tougher.

Last week, I posted this video of her favorite verse on Facebook and it was such a good reminder, I want to repost here.

“Don’t worry your pretty little head about it,” she’d often say.

Oh the years I’ve wasted trying to be more instead of trying to being content.

My first lesson in trying to be content was discovering that I could not do it on my own. I tried this and I tried that. A little taste here or a hint of the good life there…

Do you have ANY idea how long I have been searching for joy?!

Let’s stop allowing our circumstances to dictate how our weeks, or days, or hours pass by. Let’s be like Peter in the midst of truly unfortunate circumstance.

Let’s think of things that are lovely. Who else wants the Fruit of the Spirit?
