New #MusicMonday: Let Freedom Ring by Abby Anderson

Featured Video Play Icon

The first time I heard this song I instantly thought it needed to be shared. In a world full of “me, myself and I”, this song is a breath of fresh air.

If Let Freedom Ring doesn’t make you swell up in love and gratitude for America โ€“ check your pulse. As Abby talks about the making of the song (above video), she gives all the glory to God for the remastering of My Country Tis of Thee. And I, for one, can feel the Holy Spirit moving through this song. As Labor Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veteran’s Day flow through our year, let’s add this to the playlist that puts us right with The One who created it all and gave us our precious gift of freedom.

Please join with me in welcoming back a nation that not only says “God Bless the USA” but also fearlessly proclaims that we are “One Nation Under God”. The lyrics (below) say it all… “Great God Our King” is the sentiment this country was founded on.

We ARE a Christian nation.

Lyrics:

Let freedom ring
Let freedom ring

My country ’tis of thee
Sweet land of liberty
Of thee I sing

Land where my fathers died
Land of the pilgrim’s pride
From every mountain side
Let freedom ring

My native country thee
Land of the noble free
Thy name I love
I love thy rocks and rills
Thy woods and templed hills
My heart with rapture thrills
Like that above

Let freedom ring
Great God our King
From sea to shining sea
Let Freedom ring

So let music swell the breeze
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom song

Let mortal tongues awake
Let all that breath partake
Let rocks their silence break
The sound prolong

Let freedom ring
Great God our King
From sea to shining sea
Let freedom ring

Our father’s God to thee
Author of liberty
To Thee we sing
Long may our land be bright
With freedoms holy light
Protect us by Thy might
Great God our King

Let freedom ring
Pray God our King
From sea to shining sea
Let freedom ring

Let freedom ring
Great God our King
From sea to shining sea
Let freedom ring

Oh great God our King
Let freedom ring
